Banksia Grove by postapocalypsia Banksia Grove by postapocalypsia
This is from a late afternoon walk around the Pt Lookout headland on Nth Stradbroke Island. The wide open views were great but this bit of leafy intimacy just struck me at the time.

This is beautiful. The bits of red and orange catching the light are just wonderful. :)

So many colors in the shadows. I love the way you let the light play into the composition. That patch of is just the perfect touch!

Dude, the light really makes this one, as you know of course. I think I'm leaning a little too heavily toward the orange & blue dichotomy & not using enough yellow & green in my own stuff.

I guess every painter has their colour leanings, me included.

I love your stuff! You are so good at capturing the mood of a place. I can almost feel the cool shade and the warm sunlight peeking through at the back there by the water, makes me want to just run down that path!

Thank you for your generous comments - that's pretty much how I would like the painting to be seen:)

Your paintings are great. I really like your landscapes in particular, most of the time I find landscape paintings boring, but yours somehow have a different feel to them, I'm not sure exactly what it is but they captivate me! :D
