One of my favourite places - oil on canvas - 610mm x 370mm
very pretty, i had to look twice because i thought it was a photograph, a very lovely one at that! great job!
So beautiful: The light, the trees... feels like holidays.
I love the allusions to the ocean and the far away mountains, almost as if you live in a cabin in the woods, and you are on your walk to the beach. Completely perfect work, makes me want to study under you.
I like to observe real places and then just add a touch of mystery, and let the viewer go wherever they may. I'm glad it is taking you somewhere!
Wow..... this is beautifully done.
oh wow this is brilliant. my word ... i'm betting u never miss the right light. i love this painting ..to me this is the best painting I've seen here.. congratulations
Thank you for your kind words Chasing interesting light is a passion of mine - trying to capture it is a perpetual challenge!
dude, this actually looks like a cypress grove. or mediterranean pine. thats actually what it reminds me of. pretty similar. anyway, looks real!
Thanks - cypress has such a rich colour to it's foliage, and such a gnarly texture to it's bark, it's quite a challenge, enjoyable but tricky.
I can see why this is one of your favorite places... it's breathtaking!
Wow, you understand lighting really well. Great work
really good stuff
This reminds me of a park I've been to a few times in Ocean Beach SF...Very cool. The more stuff I look at of yours the more impressed I am!
wow you like doing water seens dont you? its amazing
Yep that's for sure - though for a coastal scene, this one doesn't have much water visible!
i love your water seens expesially that beach one
...it doesn't come easy - water can be tricky to paint.
we r learning water in our art class my sensei said i did really good im almost the best in my class but i dont like people seeing my work until im really good i did a river it looked deep it looked really good exept for the japanese house it looked like somthing a 12 year old would do
You never learn if you never try! One good lesson is how to be humble - everybody turns out a lemon here and there...and waiting until you are really good - that may be a bit subjective. Sometimes the better you get, the better you think you should be and so you never get to show off your work (just talking in hypotheticals) - All the best with your art anyway!
this is so cool!! i can't paint like that....
This is such a great work!
awesome painting! I like how you did all the shadows on the ground and trees. thought it was a photo from the thumbnail...but then whoa!
I like how the focus and detail are spreaded all over the canvas in a really harmonical way. Simple idea yet very interesting to look at. Well done!!
Thanks I ended up obscuring the main focus behind the tree so as not to make it too predictable or obvious - glad you like it!
Very nice painting.
