Artist's Comments

This was just lurking in my head for a while so I started working it up - first as a drawing, then as a photoshop colour-in and then a painting (acrylic) 640mm x 920mm.
I didn't know whether to call it "Fireflies" or "Clare de Lune" - any suggestions welcome!

I love the texture on the stone. I think you should call it Clare de Lune. It just seems to suit it better.

Have a nice day :)
I am in total love with her FEET. That glow from the fireflies looks great too! This painting reminds me of those folk-like old Halloween paintings. Good job!

Do not be too hasty in entering that room. I had Taco Bell for lunch!
That is neat. This is quite awesome!

Beautiful. Fireflies are basicly exstinct in my part of the world. I haven't had the pleasure of them glowing in my yard for YEARS and years.

:-)
beautiful lighting!
Some of the most captivating lighting and imagery I've seen recently. I love the colors. Something about the piece reminds me a little bit of Maxfield Perish's work (though it is different.) Beautiful work. :+fav:

Beautiful!

Well, "fireflies" explains the tiny lights (which could be some magic thing, otherwise), while "moonlight" does add nothing to the image.
Afterthought:

Viridianeye says this image reminds her/him of Maxfiel Parish. Yes, the figure has the same "cartoony" realism. But the overall impression is more of Michael Whelan to me. I love him, and you're one of my three favourites here on DA :-)
