Hi, I don't mean to sound creepy, but whereabouts did you paint this, in Australia? Those gently rolling golden hills, gum trees, and rural atmosphere just beg for some Google Earth "street view" strolling around Love your paintings, by the way!
Yep, this is in Australia, in south east Qld, but how is that creepy...does it look familiar to you? This view has since been turned into an instant suburb, so google street view is probably more appropriate now!
I meant to say I didn't want to sound creepy asking you about where you painted that image because you mentioned you often walk by that location, and I thought maybe I would come across sort of stalker-y haha. It's a very nice painting, and I guess a kind of historical document now that the area's been urbanised. I grew up in a rural place not unlike the one you painted, and coming back to it again and again throughout the years has been a melancholy experience on many levels--to see it gradually become less and less "the countryside" and more and more "the suburbs"... I'm torn because people need a place to live, but I miss my childhood wildland and your painting transported me to those days and made me feel all fuzzy inside, so thanks
Yep, that's pretty much my story too...it's always sad to see wild places turned into suburbs, but I live in a house that was once on bushland so I can hardly point the finger at anyone else. Sure makes me wistful though. Thanks for the feedback
Ohhh...that's cool! Love the contrast you have here! You walk in a lovely place. I have to go to a park to walk. But i'm all city boy, so i put up with it. Anyway, this is a lovely piece of work you have here!
