This started as an idea after photographing a tree, looking across the bay - the composition was calling out for a figure, something wild and untamed...

Great composition. The dark foreground with dappled light against the bright blue background is so effective and striking.

This is so great and the best use of a nude I have seen in a while in a painting.
You are a darn fine painter.

Thanks, I appreciate that! I was originally captivated by the tree, but I felt that it really needed a figure to set it off.

It was an interesting composition - the sun was behind and directed at a large expanse of water which helped to ramp up the contrast with most of the foreground in deep shadow. Glad you like it!

Aaah, this totally says skinny-dipping in the summer to me. Apart from the tropical touches, reminds me of home, and a good old hippie childhood... ;)

Yeah, I can relate to that! I was hoping to catch that carefree feeling - glad you picked up the vibe. I reckon if you hang on to your childhood memories you never quite finish growing up...which is great!:)
